Hey,
I have two questions, i have just had my car stripped(walnut blasted) and now i am ready to paint it, i was wondering what kind of primer i should use over the bare metal, and then there is lots of little dings and stuff, so i was wondering what kind of build primer i could use to even these things out. i would prefere to stay away from filler if possible, and someone suggested build primer, but i don't know what to buy??? any ideas would be sweet, i wanna go and pick up the stuff so i can start this weekend

Nick, you need to get some etching primer on it as soon as possible. After the etch you can follow up with some epoxy primer or a compatible high build primer. Go to your paint store and ask them. on the dings and dent your going to have to pull or pound them out or fillthem with filler, thats just the way it is. Filler primer is not going to fill a sizeable ding. good luck, if you have any questions just email me.

To add what Moe siad you should first sand the car with a da sander with 220 to rough up the surface before you paint. I believe walnut shells is like plastic blasting, the media doesnt etch the metal you need to sand it so the paint will stick, plus it will rid any flash rust that might have started.

You just are not going to avoid bondo, every car on the road has it no way around it. Filler primer is meant to fill minor impertions not dents, even a polyester primer filler willnot do that, which is basically a watered down body filer that is sprayable.
You want to use a good filler DONT cheap out on filler it can and will come back to haunt you, buy evercoats Rage or Rage Gold the best fillers on the market
