Guys,
How is the LH side inner fender intended to attach at the firewall on a '71 Chevelle.

2 bolts with large fender washers. Right about in the middle of the panel. A couple of inches apart.
Check your email http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif.

It bolts on exactly like the right side.
But kinda like looking in a mirror.

Guys,
That's what I would think but there is a bracket welded to the inner fender and the firewall. There are no bolt holes. The RH side goes on exactly as you described, but the LH side ?????? Anyone seen this before? It doesn't look like it is something that is added on by someone.

There shouldn't be anything welded anywhere as far as the inner fenders to firewall are concerned. they should bolt up exactly like the other side. Everything on that nose should bolt on. It sounds like some one snapped off the bolts in the bracket on the firewall , then welded it to re attach it.
Also keep in mind that these cars came with plastic inner fenders also.

Guys,
I knew the car had been hit slightly on the LH side as the fender was pretty beat up when I stripped it down. Evidently when it was hit it ripped the spot welds out of the bracket. I welded it back on, gave it a coat of paint and it's good as new.
