: Blower hood?

My buddy has a 66 Chevelle. Well after a catastrophic failure of a little orange oil filter, he has taken out the wasted big block. Now he has the spare small block with an 8-71 blower in it. He has a 4” cowl fiberglass hood, but doesn’t want to cut it. He doesn’t think an aero scoop will look right with the boxy shape of the 66, nor does he want a bug catcher sticking through a cowl hood. Any ideas?

Humm, ditch the blower or cut a hole in hood

I hear you. My suggestion to him was to ditch the fiberglass hood, put the steel one back on, cut the hole, slope the edges of the opening up, and cover the edges with piping used for door edge guard. I was just wondering if someone knew of a scoop that would look good, or had another idea (I'm a newbee at this)other than a 8" cowl.
That's two for cutting a hole.
