Truck bumpers take a beating, they sit lower than they do on your average car and the rear tires always throw abrasives, rocks, mud, road salt, etc, at them. The factory chrome bumpers aren't plated very well inside and dealerships in my area warranty quite a few before the 3year 36,000 mile warranties are up. Rubberized undercoating is a useless product when it starts drying up and cracking eventually holding moisture. POR15 might help if you can get it to stick to the plated surface. Catalyzed spray on bedliner coating would also work good. Heck common road tar would even work good-the messy stuff sure preserves wheel wells smile.gif Anything that will protect the steel from contact with oxygen given the conditions.
