hey guys i have a question and i wasnt sure where to post it but here it goes. I have a 71 chevelle that was originally an A/C car but I have since removed the A/C and I am left with the ugly cluttering heater box assembly at the firewall. My question is can i remove it and replace it with the heater case cutoff assembly shown in OPG for cars that were originally non A/C, has anyone done this? I really want to get rid of that ugly box its just too much clutter. thanks for any repsonses

Depending on where you are, and if you don't need heat, you can completely block it off and take out the heater core and inside stuff on the firewall too. That will eliminate the hoses coming out of the firewall too. You would then make/buy a panel to cover the hole.

The firewall opening for a non-AC car is smaller than on an original AC. So, the answer to your question is NOPE. :)

However, do a search on American Graffiti. They make a cover that bolts in place of your stock AC box and only allows the air to flow from the squirel cage fan right into the firewall opening.
