Methos

I was recently involved in a accident in my 1966 Chevelle. The other driver hit and sheared of the rear tail on the driver's side. At least, that what I think it's called. It's where the rear fender, bumper and brake bezel meet. The other driver has offered to pay (or I'll sue him) for repairs. However, most body shops have balked since they don't know if they could find a replacement part. I found one shop that does loweriders that say they can do it, but I'd like to have some backup just in case. Does anyone know where I can find it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Genaro

Check the parts for sale section... You should be able to find the piece there.. Or you can see if they make a reproduction at our sponsor "Ground Up" or other parts suppliers.
Sorry too hear about your accident.. Good Luck! Also make sure to get the guys willingness to pay in writing, or you'll be out of luck when it comes time too pay!

Genaro, Are you talking about the cast metal piece that bolts onto the end of the quarter panel/rear panel and has the tailights in it, or are you talking about the metal panel at the back of the car that goes from tail light to tail light (the trunk lock is in this panel as well)? If you are talking about the cast part, I see these for sale all the time on E-bay and the TC for-sale pages. Each side should cost about $25 or less, depending on condition. If you are looking for the rear body panel, these are harder to find. I have seen a couple of new ones around, but they are rare. You'll need to find one of these from a recycler.

It's the part where the tail light is, so I assume it's the cast part. However, I don't know what it's called to look it up. Also, the other driver is now avoiding my calls so I guess it's off to court.

This part (cast metal piece?) was damaged. The small rectangle next to the arrow represents the tail light.

Genaro, This is the cast piece I was talking about. I'm not sure exactly what GM calls them, but I have heard them called a tail light housing, a quarter panel end cap and/or a quarter panel extension. Look through the parts for sale section here and on Ebay and I'm sure you'll find one. Try to make sure you get one with no brocken studs. If your car is not a "300" series, then you may want to be sure that the extension is drilled for the outer tailight bezels (the 300 series did not have these bezels) Good luck.
