What is best way to install '69 SS side stripe? dry? wet/squeegee?

Any "previous experience" stories that might help?

Also, Which direction does the stripe go? It is my impression from pictures and the assembly manual that the "sharpest end/longest taper" goes to the rear. Is this correct? (Better to ask now, than later)

Thanks.

i did this several years and thought it was a major PITA. i would NOT try to do it dry. what I did was lay the stripes out for a couple of days in some warmth to keep them from curling and stay flat. I then used small pieces of tape to position the pieces. then when I had it where I thought i wanted it i ran high quality(3M) thin masking tape along the bottom of the stencil. you must keep eyeballing everything. make sure you clean very thoroghly with wax and grease remover the areas you want the stencil to stick.
it is very important to work only 1 panel at a time and keep it moist with the water and soap mix(spray bottle). this allows you to reposition if necessary. when applying the decal peel it very slowly and not at a sharp angle. i also used a squeegee(SP) to work the small air bubbles. good luck mike
