ok so my friend works at an auto body shop and can order anything i need at discounted prices!!! whats the best primer to use over bare metal. i will be installing quarter panel patches and patching my fenders.

I prefer epoxy primer right over the bare metal. Keep in mind that some epoxys may need some type of metal conditioner first. I put any required filler over the epoxy, then sand to shape. Since sanding the filler will cut through the primer to metal again, I shoot another coat of epoxy in those areas. When I'm ready to start blocking, I switch over to 2K urethane since it builds better and is easier to sand. Just my 2 cents.

That's the way I do it too! At least on the projects that need to last a few lifetimes graemlins/beers.gif
