I want to take my car for a run down the 1/4 mile. My mechanic said that it could possibly rip apart down the track because the floor panels are extremly rusted (I looked my self, they are)and it would be under so much stress that it could rip. Would it be worth it to buy new floor panels? Would this do anything and would you recommend me buying anything else so it doesnt crash?

Thanks a lot! ~Mike

Before doing ANY high speed "activities", you need to check more than just the floorboards! Brakes and suspension come to mind first, then safety equipment. I'm guessing this is a "Run whatcha Brung" day at the track? A sanctioned NHRA or IHRA event will have a tech inspection before allowing ANYTHING on the track - for your own wellbeing, and that of your competitors and spectators.
