What type of cleaner you guys use before using POR-15? I would like to use something off the shelf. I hate going through the mail all the time. Thanks.

I use Citrus Clean. It's made by Zep, and sold at Home Depot, Lowes, etc....

Randy, do you use water to clean up the citrus, or just go straight to the POR? Thanks.

What are you going to use the POR on and what are you trying to clean? For grease use Castrol Super Clean and to clean off rust just put some Muriatic acid in a plastic bucket and brush it on with a paint brush leave it on for a few minutes and wash off with water, if there is heavy rust you may have to do it a few times. For about $4.00 for 2 gallons it will make you a believer.

Bret, if your car is a AZ car I would not bother with the POR. I think most people who use that stuff have to worry about rust and like it because they can put it on with a brush. If you have access to a compressor I would use paint with a hardner added.

Do a very good rinse with water and immediately dry with a towel and compressed air.
