Looked at a 99 mitsu at auction last night, great shape with 134 thou miles. I bid it to 2300 but the owner said he needed at least 25 to part with it. After it left the line i went outside and talked to him and turns out hes a dealer (buy here cash place, no finance) but he said he has a inventory overrun and since i have 2k cash (was going to make rent late a week to have the full 25) he said he would work somthing with me on the other 5. I go monday to decide if im going to bring the car home.

Anyone had any experence with these cars? Any imput is appretiated. The car is a 4 cyl auto i beleave, ill check monday. The guy said he had it on his lot for $4,600, he also had a 02 grand am and caviler but i want to stay away from them.

I have a friend that works for a small independent honest gearhead used car dealer. They won't stock of sell Mitsu's, I was thinking about one of the roadsters a couple of years ago and asked him if he could find a clean one for me. He said local banks are reluctant to finance them with higher miles becaue they have a high engine and turbo failure rate. Do your homework at Consumer Reports, talk to mechanics, etc. then make a decision on what you learn.
