I actually want to know the same thing except I want to sandblast both sides. I have a bad fender to practice on.

This is tricky.
If you want to blast the inside of your fender's and I'm not talking about the wheel housing's, you can do it. BUT! you have to excesize extreme caution! Work the area quickly and DO NOT PAUSE at ANY location. It will take longer to do because you are shooting fast and remember to take lot's of break's. Feel the metal and as it warms just stop. Do not let any area's heat because you will warp the piece. If you have bad case of rusties then you just want to clean it up of the loose stuff and then paint it with POR-15. The POR-15 loves the rust as long as there is no loose scale.
The Wheel Housing can take more abuse as it is thicker steel and formed differently but it is still a good idea to move fast and don't warm the pieces.
In either case. I would suggest that you find some scrap pieces to practise on first and get the feel for blasting without warming the metal. I learned the hardway and eventually got it right, after I wasted 1 inner fender and outter fender on a firebird. By the way, I used #40 Black Beauty and it worked very well.
Hope it helps.

Or, you can order crushed walnut shells or plastic blasting media from Eastwood.

I loaned my pressure (TIP) blaster to a Mopar buddy to blast the new HEMI K member and front suspension on his 70 CUDA. well to make a long story short. he got carried away and wanted to expedite his work. I.E. Fenders inside and out, hood both sides and doors. He had to pay many extra hours of body shop labor to correct the warped panels. I am not saying this cannot be done . just that I WOULD NOT GO THERE. If you have the fenders off do the chem/navy jell and then hose it off ?

I should've mentioned that it's the reason you blast with plastic media or walnut shells; to reduce heat and eliminate warpage.

Randy . Your right. plastic media, walnut shells, baking soda and corn starch. work.
but unless you have a blast room where you can recycle the media. It gets $$$ pricey $$$
I know how many bags of sand, I blow away on a frame.
The local Media blast place. Shovels out the room and runs it through a giant sifter!
