rskip Jun 4th, 04, 2:35 AM Anyone have experience with repro sets being currently sold for '71 chevelles? I would perfer to purchase NOS but seem to only be able to find the rears and not the fronts. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks,

ACLineman Jun 4th, 04, 7:46 AM I just put on a set of repo's on my 69,fit like a glove and came with stainless screws, but they were really cheesy and the philips head kept stripping out, so I bought good ones at the hardware store.
ACLineman Jun 4th, 04, 7:47 AM Oh yeah, they were made by a company called corvex or something like that.
RedSS454 Jun 4th, 04, 10:33 AM we got a set for our 71 from Ground up. fits great and looks great.
three85stroker Jun 5th, 04, 11:37 PM How much do you guys think an original set would go for? I ask because I traded my friend his help on my Chevelle for the mouldings that came with it, but so far have been unsuccessful in collecting the debt graemlins/angry.gif . They were in perfect condition.
ACLineman Jun 5th, 04, 11:49 PM seen them go for as much as 175 on e-bay.
Check there to get an idea.
mkarstm Jun 6th, 04, 12:33 AM I have a set of those on my 69. In my opinion, they are junk. They are very flimsy and I sure wouldnt call them great fitting. If you can find a set of NOS , its well worth the money. i just bought a set and am planning on getting rid of those cheap repros. The NOS is pricey, (225.00) but they are realy really nice.
ACLineman Jun 6th, 04, 9:15 AM There you go three85stroker, Looks like you have a buyer at 225 !!!!
rskip Jun 7th, 04, 2:31 PM Thanks for the comments everyone. Hey Red, was the trim you picked up from GroundUp NOS? If not, who manufactured them? I looked around there site and could only find NOS sets for $450. That's a bit much for me right now - I'm still looking on e-bay with my fingers crossed.
