What brand / type sealant is used between the seams of a trunk pan and the car pan thats seal and protects the weld/joint from rusting. Is there a better way to install a trunk pan with the edges overlaping the car floor pan.Is it neccessary to weld the trunk pan at the edges all the way around or spot weld a 1/4" away from the edge every 3 inches or so around the pans perimeter?Thank you!!!

Use body seam sealer at your over lap joint and seams. It comes in two flavors .Brush on (Qt. can) or calking tube type. You can get it at your local body supply house.
I like to weld my seam solid. other like to
Spot weld every 1 in , By weldin shut a 1/4 in hole to the bottom panel. like a spot weld.
