I have a 67 chevelle coupe that has been off the road for about 2 years now. I lost the use of the garage to redo this project because of storage needs(kids). My question is how much of this project can I do outside in the driveway? Is it possible to do it all or am I asking for more problems? I was thinking of getting one of the plastic covers that act as a garage. Thought that might help. I have never done any kind of body work so the project is going to move slowly. Any ideas would be helpful. MIKE

Put the kids stuff in the plastic cover and keep the car in the garage. Seriously, I think this depends on what kind of repairs. Engine, tranny, rear, brake and suspension work you can do outside, weather permitting. After all, this stuff is esentiually "outside" anyway. Interior work as well, just close the the doors when your done for the day. But major body work, welding, sheetmetal work will be challenging. By necessity, it takes time and doesn't not do well exposed to the climate between steps. The only other struggle is that you won't be able to just walk away at the end of the day, you will have to round up all the tools and parts before calling it a day.

I roll mine out all the time for misc projects......but anything that can't be finished in a day.....I take a deep breath and tolerate the tiny cubicle of a garage space I have and do it in there...."homeowners assoc." I don't leave anything outside after I'm finished and I clean the drive when I'm finished too.

Thanks for the input. The welding and bodywork were my main problem area I guess I will have to wait alittle longer for that part of the project. Thanks again
