Hey Gang, I have waited long enough. Finally have some air tools and am ready (i think) to pull the body off the frame. I am wondering are there any special tips or tricks I should know about before I get too involved with it next weekend? (this weekend is buick suspension)

Especially since this is a convertible I don't want to risk tweaking anything.

Thanks!

One trick i used, is to put wheels with ut tires on the rear, you don't have to lift quite as high then.

Good luck.

Don't take the doors off, or open them! There's a risk of tweaking the tub if you do. Good luck!

I just pulled a '70 convert body off last month that had zero rust. We drove the car into the shop and in 11 hours two of us had the car completely stripped and hung on a rotiserie. To our amasement, we could open and close the doors like the car was on the frame though I don't suggest leaving it that way very long. I am pulling another '70 convert in about two weeks. This car has a fair amount of rust damage so I will weld some 1" square tubing from the upper part of the front kick panel across the door and weld to the top of the rear kick panel. I will also likely weld a bar from the top of the windshield piller down the rear seat area. The rest is pretty simple.
