And getting this far it will be 2 years since I bought my 69 ss convertible on May 21 2005 on my birthday, hehe
Here is a video clip of my engine running for the first time after 30+ years after I found it sitting in the guys yard.
I know one thing the engine sure does like sucking down the gas...:D
The sound is kinda loud so you might turn it down a bit, not a good camera to shoot video, but I will use what ever is working....

I was hoping it was the same engine, not rebuilt. Still cool though. I like those vids of guys finding cars that have been sitting for years, changing the plugs, fresh fuel and she starts up.

Thanks dean that was the first video I did at night I did a new one today and uploaded it and you tube still says:
The video you have requested is not available.

If you have recently uploaded this video, you may need to wait a few minutes for the video to process.

Guess I have to wait still?

Brett that was not going to happen with my original engine it was locked up tight and needed to be soaked for over a month to get it apart. I was real lucky it worked and only needed 2 sleeves in the cylinder walls. Everything else on the engine was usable and worked.

Sounds great. Just a few body panels away from a CB07 debu! Belive it or not Mike, My Convertible body is almost ready for paint. I have to take the roller to his shop first week of March and drop it off to him so he can assemble it and check all the fitment of the doors, fenders, hood, trunk, ect then take it back down and paint it.:D
So its coming together slowly.

What camshaft are you running?

Nate, Iam not much of a engine person I will admit that for sure so I left it up to my engine rebuilder for all that stuff.
I dont know much about the internals of a engines so I left it up to him to make it run good and last for the rest of the life of the car. My friend is a proffesional race engine builder does alot for Keith Eickert big stuff Big $$$ engines. He does Offshore Racing Engines give you an example I have seen just some of the cranks he has that cost more than $10,000 for a crank and a cam that cost $9,000 crazy stuff.
My engine rebuilder made the cam for my engine.
544 Lift
292 Duration
Race Prep Heads
3 Angle Valve job
Resurface heads
Bowl Blend
Set up for 219/1.88 Port Match
Keith Black Pistons
Hope that helps because I dont know squat about the internals of it, LOL
He came over to help me get it started and brake in the motor. We were supposed to do it before Christmas but he had a heart attack (mild) the day he was coming over to do it so I waited till he was done with his double bypass operation. So all is well engine and his heart:D
The cheap video does not do it justice for the real sound.
