: which sending units?

I have a '67SS that had dummy lights. I bought the repo guages from NPD and they are being installed along with the dash today. The body shop called and wanted me to find out which sending units for this. The car is a '67, the engine is a '73 454 and the intake is a high riser iron from a '66.
He called local auto parts stores and they are bumfuzzled.
Can anyone tell me which sending units I need for the temp and oil pressure gauges? anything else I should be aware of with my set up going from dummy lights to gauges? I sure am ready to hear that bad boy crank.
Thanks as always,
Herb

you will need the sending units that are factory correct for that year and 67 engine model.

Ac/Delco temp unit #G1852.
Any parts store should be able to x-ref this #.

Isn't the oil press.gauge mechanical??

Herb,

I'm putting those same gauges (from Shiftworks?) in my 67 with a '74 454. Yeah, go figure, 2 Herbs with 67's using almost identical 454 engines. That's wierd.

Anyway, the oil pressure gauge is mechanical. Minor plumbing required. My gauges came with a temp sender and the oil plumbing tube and fittings. Shiftworks says their temp gauge works with the stock or any electrical 75 ohm temp sender.

BTW - go one the Shiftworks site and down load their guide to troubleshooting your installation. Good info in that doc with pics.

Thanks all. Yeah, Herb, that is weird. My '73 454 actually came out in a '74 Caprice Classic as it is a late month '73 engine.
We must think alike.
