I know its not a Chevelle but I am wondering what a car I asked about was worth. It is a '68 Camaro with a 327 and Powerglide I am guessing they are original the owner didnt say. I didn't see much of it because it was semi covered up. He said it needed both quarters replaced. But anyway he said that someone offered $10,000 for it. I personally think he is full of crap but I was wondering if anyone had heard of a plain camaro going for anything like that.

sure it could bring that much

i wouldn't think it would bring 10 grand, not being driven, and needing 2 full quarters, and who knows what else. I would offer 7 grand for it, i think that is closer to the ballpark. Rather than spend 10 grand on it, I would rather spend 15 grand and get a nice one not needing nearly as much

He should have took the 10k :)

A 327/glide 68 needing quarters probably needs even more, before it would be worth $10k. Now if it has low miles and everything else is mint maybe he could get that. 6 months ago I could have bought a 67 RS in black for less than $10k and it didn't need any panel replacement. It was a 4spd too.

The car is far from being mint. It was originally forest green but it had a yellow hood on it. The paint looked pretty sad, I did not see the interior but I doubt if it was anything to get excited about.

We paid 3400 for a rust bucket 6 banger glide car needing (not running) everything early last year. So yes, its very possible

It just really caught me by surprise because the only option it really had was air conditioning. All the people that I have told about it around here said maybe $1000 on a good day. But then again they were all old enough to have those kinds of cars when they were brand new.

69 Z/28 still america's favorite muscle car. Anything that resembles said car brings money.

If thats the case he certainly should have took the money and ran.

Sounds like a way to extort $$$ for junk.....kind of like saying "well you need to offer more than this guy did with the $10k offer"....

Of course with as many fools out there with a desire to get their hands on a classic it's possible but I have my doubts....

Maybe he miscounted and added a zero too many on the price?:D

$3400 for a 6 banger non running glide car.....wow and over 3 years ago I could've had a running 6 banger/glided '69 Camaro....still kick myself for that....:clonk:

Well that wouldn't work on me because I wouldn't of paid even 1/5 of what he said he was offered.
