Doing a 70 ss chev, I believe the steering column is from a 72 or 73. In my parts book (group 6.000-page6-22P) there is a spring in the gear shift lever housing(#54). It was not there when we took it apart and I know the previous owner was driving the car. My question is, what is it for and is it needed(I'm sure they put it there for a reason). If it is needed, does any one know where I can get one? Thank you, Lonny
