I am about to get my 68 Malibu painted and I don't know anything about painting. I am keeping the original color, light blue with black vinyl top, and want to car to look as original as possible. It is a daily driver. What kind of paint should I be using? Base coat/clear coat? Urethane? Any advice that may keep me from messing up would be appreciated.

Use base coat/ claer coat. Stays shiney forever outside. I believe the clear coat is urathane.
