Newby questions - I have a 'new' Edelbrock 7101 intake manifold. Current setup is as stock intake with a Edelbrock 1406 carb on a SBC 350 71 Chevelle, their web site states that a 1407 carb should be used, I want to know what others are out there? I have no idea what type of cam, pistons, etc is in the engine. It runs hard and fast (for me anyway) Would I need to change anything to match the intake and newer carb?

Tony,
You need to know what cam you are running. The Performer RPM manifold you have operates from 1500 - 6500. If you put this on a small or stock cam motor you will lose low end torque. In other words it will feel sluggish taking off from a stand still. Also the same is true for the bigger carb. If it was me, I would return the 7101 and get the 2101 and reuse my 1406. If you want to match the new manifold (7101) you will need to change the cam along with a new timing chain and valve springs and rear gears, possibly a stall converter if it is a auto trans.
