Hi all,

Been searching for days to figure out how the wires are supposed to run into the cluster connector on my brother's 70 Chevelle with the gauges. We have looked/bought about a half dozen different wiring diagrams and they don't seem to be complete. Does anyone know where I can find a break down by pin number? I even found a few pictures on line, but the wires seem to be in a different order.

I'm also wondering how the ammeter is wired, is that part of the cluster connector? I have the 2 black wires and 2 empty pins in the connector but that just doesn't seem right.

Any help greatly appreciated!!!!!

What a coincidence, I just finished putting my guage cluster back together this morning. Here's a couple of pictures for you, on the picture of the back, look at the top right hand corner and you'll see where one big plug sticks in and runs the guages from the blue circuit board and all the small black plastic pieces are the lights. Hope this helps.

Yes, that helps, Thank You for the pics! The thing that worries us is if the wires are in the right place in the connector. I found a pic that shows the connector with the wires hanging out of it (attached below).

In the pic, he has a tan in the number 2 hole and ours is on the end. We also have 2 open slots with no wires in them.

Are all 12 of your slots filled?

Thanks, John

Yes its wired in the connector, see link above. Should be a black and a black with white strip. If you are converting from lights to gauges, you need to add the rest of the ampmeter wiring. Here is a post that I helped another member with his amp gauge, its a 69, but wiring is the same for a 70, has pics too.
