Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't 70-72 Chevelle Sport Mirrors (remote mirrors) mount on the flat ledge at the top of the door, and NOT below the crease in the door? I've got a line on a set, but the seller states that they mount "below the body line about 2" away from the door glass". He also states that the mirrors will definately fit my Chevelle. I want them to be accurate, and need to have my TC pals confirm the mounting location. Can anyone help ASAP?

They mount on the top flat part just as you assumed. The correct mirrors for our Chevelles are very hard to find due to the bases :(
