My truck's about to be painted, not by me, but by a reputable and widely recommended local shop. I asked them what brand and line of paint products they use, and they replied with the above.

It's a '76 C20 and it is being painted its original grey color. They are removing all of the trim, the windshield and rear window, the doors, the bed and the hood so that there is thorough coverage with no paint on the trim, etc.

I'm not second-guessing their choice in paint products; I'm just curious what those of you who know about this stuff have to say about the PPG Deltron DBU BC/CC system.

Thanks, in advance, for your comments and help! http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

Dave,

That is exactly what I used on my 1972 El Camino. Very good paint. Have them shoot 3 coats of clear, so you (or the shop) will have plenty to work with while color sanding.

Good Luck,

Thanks for the tip and the feedback.

How many coats of clear is "normal?"

2 coats are normal. This gives you an insurance coat to wetsand and buff. Actually removing the 3 rd coat and some of the second in some cases.
