You need a stud welder for the moulding mounts check out eastwoods web site. As for the windshield just apply over the finished paint.Unless your are not painting the car prior to winshield install, then i would paint just the window area with you final color.

hrd, sounds like you are about to install a windshield. I suggest you search windshield install on this forum for MartinSR basics, and read the article in tech archives on this site. 3M makes a "pinch weld primer" comes in a tiny bottle, to prime the area where the sealant goes on the glass and the car. Most classic car restores use 3M ribbon weld, or butyl tape, 5\16 inch thick instead of urethane caulk in a tube, to avoid the mess associated with careless application of urethane sealant. Read all the posts and you can do this yourself. good luck. I did the windshield on my 65 chevelle and am now doing my 70 vette.
There are also little screws to replace broken off studs, #4x 5/8 I think.

Look at Mr. G's site, they have screw-in type studs just for this at a few different lengths, the moulding clip will mopunt to that. http://www.mrgusa.com
