Hey Guys,
Anyone used 3M or Fusor metal bonding adhesive to attach body patch panels instead of welding?

How about pop rivets and sheet metal screws?

I wouldn't recommend either of the 2. Be smart don't half it., and you won't regret it. Car bodies take alot more rattling abuse than most people thing. It might look good for a short time, but it will never last.

i have glued quarters and patch panels on using duramix and 3m panel bonding adhesive. Also used door skin adhesive on door skins.follow the directions and have a lot of vise grips and c-clamps.As far as it rattling loose.I doubt it.This stuff is stronger than a weld.It is approved for new cars so why not on old ones?

Thanks Chris, I think I'll go with the 3M. They were nice enough to have the rep call me to answer questions I had. I guess I just wanted to hear from someone that had used it on a restoration job. I have some places to patch on one that I won't be able to get to the back side to clean and paint after welding. As you know, it'll rust faster after it's heated that way if it's not treated. That's were I thought the adhesive would do a better job that welding.
Thanks again,
Dan

I Also have used duramix small patch panel
products. My 65 Elky need a 1/4 from mid line down and around the gas filler area.
I fabed the above mid line and pieced three path panel for the lower. With all the welding needed I decided to give the Duramix sys a try. Been 2 years and so far so good.
I welded tacks in the corners after it dried.
