I have just purchased a used set of gauges for my 70 SS chevelle. The lettering on the gauges look kinda white. Should they be a distinctive color green or is that just indicated when they light with the green backround?

70s are light GREEN tint, All three pods,Heater controls,and radio. If any of the above are white You have 71-72 Dash parts.

Why I know for sure? In Atlanta Ga. NCOA show, A judge ask why I had a WHITE 71 Clock in my 70 SS 454. DAA!!

Letters could be faded but the back of the face will be destintive.
Green = 70
white = 71/72

I can re-silkscreen the dial faces with the correct green lettering if you are interested. -Mike

are they idiot lights or full guages?
I only ask because I have a 71 that has a set of green tint 70 idiot lights just an option of you want to trade.
