Just called a local place(under 100 miles away ) and they quoted me $700 to get it galvanized. WOWWWWIE!!! That's steep. Maybe I'll go the blast method and then paint it with epoxy. I think it should last another 25-30 years.

I could get it powder coated for less!!

It's Cali, what do you want ;)

Seriously though, they (the gov) probably has a strangle hold on the industry.

Yep probably paying Arnies broken leg bill after his skiing accident... hehehe...

I'm gonna call one other place in Oakland and see what they offer.

Geez, that does seem relatively high. Most price by the pound. Maybe that was a WAG at the weight. OTOH, Kalifornia probably has them recycling every molecule coming off the vats. Maybe they really don't want to do it.

If you bring your frame down to southern florida, we could do ours together & the cost would only be $150 per person. ($300 for up to 650lbs, $0.70/lb if higher).

You know that offer in Florida almost works... even after paying to ship the frame there and back. I would echo what Curt said though and start with Reno and keep going until you find someplace. Then figure the shipping and it will probably still be cheaper.
