: tamraz fenders
mrfuzzy Nov 26th, 03, 2:00 PM hey guys, i found a site on e-bay advertising 70 chevelle fenders for quite a bit cheaper than goodmark. the place is called tamraz. it is located in naperville ill. has anyone out ther bought their fenders? they claim that they are from the same place that makes goodmark fenders, and are of the same quality. i would appreciate any input on these fenders. i would save a lot on shipping alone as they are close enough for me to pick up. thanks for the help!
LKN BCK Nov 26th, 03, 3:15 PM I wish I lived close enough to drive there! It is a Parts Discount Warehouse?(What ever that means)They gaurantee to beat anyone's currently advertised price on the same merchandise!!! So do your homework.I have bought some stuff from them.
Check it out and report back to us, I would like to know what kind of operation they have there.
Thanks, DANO
Dave Nov 26th, 03, 7:46 PM I also looked at tamraz. They sent me a catalog, seems as though they have just about everything. I would also be interested in hearing a report about them. A friend of mine has used them for some park lite lenses, everything seemed ok.
SS4speed Nov 26th, 03, 9:16 PM I have purchased a few items from Tamraz, but not in the last year. They are clearly not as friendly as some places. If you don't have the numbers, they won't help you find them. As long as you have the numbers, you should be all set.

70isfine Nov 26th, 03, 10:26 PM Bought a sway bar off Ebay from them.Took almost a month to get it! I was not happy as i was in the middle of a front end rebuild and the car basically sat on jackstands for a month while i waited for the bar. I finally asked for a refund and they assured me i would have it in a few days. I did, but i realized after they wacked me $20 shipping i could have had it from Summit in 3 days for less. When it comes to sheetmetal i would reccomend you get it from Goodmark. Let me tell you a story about Goodmark. I recently ordered a Camaro fender from them. It came, i put it on and it fit like total crap, not even usable. I called up the salesman i ordered it from, and he said to take some pics of it installed and email them to him, so i did. He agreed that the fit was bad and not typical of the stuff they sell.Three days later i had another fender shipped to me for FREE( truck freight, mind you, paid $95 the first time)And he told me to keep the old one.Thats customer service.I will pay the extra few bucks and buy from them because i feel they will take care of me if i have a problem. Will Tamraz?I doubt it.They couldn't understand why i was pissed that a sway bar took a month to get to me!
LKN BCK Nov 26th, 03, 10:57 PM mrFuzzy,
There is your answer, thats why they are cheaper!
Thanks for the report 70...What are they doing selling stuff off Ebay then ordering it from their supplier, thats nice to know!!! graemlins/clonk.gif
70isfine Nov 26th, 03, 11:21 PM If you read the Ebay fine print it states that you must have the item for auction in your possesion. So you cant put something up for bid,get a winner, then order it from your supplier, then send it out to the winner. That IS exactly what they did. They told me the one they had in stock was scratched up but they did not realize it until they got it ready to ship, then had to get another from their supplier. So i asked for a refund(after 3 weeks) on the basis that the item they had for auction was not what i was getting, as it was damaged and i should have had the option of being let out of the agreement instead of waiting a month.Personally i think the story was B,S they probably never had it in stock.
mrfuzzy Nov 27th, 03, 2:45 AM thanks guys, thats what i kind of figured, like they say- you get what you pay for! i figured it would be nice to save about $200.00 on a set of fenders, but after i think about it, on a ground up resto, whats $200.00??? so it'll take a little longer to finish. what's the hurry? think i'll pop for the goodmarks. put their quarters on, fit real nice, once again, thanks!....someday it'll be done!
shannont Nov 27th, 03, 6:09 AM My front and back bumper off the 67' came from them. It took about a month to get them, but when they came in they were perfect. Really nice peices.
Cameano Nov 27th, 03, 2:19 PM I had the same deal with them, took over a month to get my bumpers from them. Their story was "we set your order up to drop ship from our supplier in California, but they only had blems in at the time of the order. They did get some more, but shipped them all to us, so we will ship to you when we recieve them." I did eventually get them, but they never did leave me feedback, so I haven't left for them, either. As far as the bumpers, front bumper is great, rear bumper wasn't buffed where it recesses into the license plate area, but otherwise really nice. The buffing of the copper and nickel plating, before the chrome is what I'm talking about, nothing you can do with it now. It's on the sides of the license plate, where it is plainly visible, not in back of it. And they came in Goodmark boxes. Overall, I'd probably not deal with them again, myself. They were quick with a reply for a shipping quote to me, but never did reply to any emails after the order. I had to call them to get answers. This was a couple months ago. Like other say, good parts for cheap, but the customer service is not that great.
LKN BCK Nov 28th, 03, 12:54 AM Save about 200.? They are most likely dented up little bit.Good thing you got your homework done in time...
mrfuzzy Nov 28th, 03, 1:06 AM i learned the hard way about great deals from e-bay, that's why i think i'll stick with a name brand.thanks again guys.
71 droptop Dec 19th, 03, 7:44 AM Try CPU Muscle car parts in Oswego IL.888-530-0033
He is a Goodmark distributor along with many other suppliers. I have been dealing with Brian for about 2 years now and been happy with his parts and more important customer service.
DaDon Dec 19th, 03, 10:22 AM I got my rear bumper and my 2 inch cowl hood from Tamraz. Bumper is a Goodmark part and the hood comes from Glasstek, which is in the same neighborhood as Tamraz. I verified w/Glasstech that they supplied first quality hoods to Tamraz, not seconds, or 'blems'. I wanted to buy the 2 parts from one place if I could, and Tamraz charged me the same as Glasstek wanted for the hood. Took a ride and picked it up. The place is kinda small and sort of a mom & pop place, which may explain some of the problems trying to compete w/Summit, OPG, etc. But I have to give them an 'E' for effort. I think they have their nich in the market but I don't think they will ever be as big/good as the others. Bottom line is, if you need something quickly stick with the others but if you don't mind waiting a bit, you might want to check them out.
66guy Dec 19th, 03, 9:46 PM Dont waste your time and money buying fenders or any thing from theses people I have both fenders for my 66 chevelle a bought. I should have toss the $600.00 out the window on the way to pick them up.
B.A. 66 SS Dec 20th, 03, 9:44 PM 66guy,
What problems did you find with the fenders? I've been looking for 66 fenders too. I've already been leaning toward Goodmark (if I can't find a good set of originals for a GOOD price).
66guy Dec 20th, 03, 10:09 PM Hello B.A.66 SS The body lines lined up very well. But the gaps between the door cowl rocker, let"s put it this way I will have to weld a peice on the fender where the door gap is and shape it the way it is suppose to be in order to get the correct gap. When I mean the gap is off that is a under statement. Talk to goodmark and buy yourself a good pair of fenders
crakarjax Dec 23rd, 03, 2:58 PM FYI, Tamraz is listed in the goodmark webpage as an authorized dealer. Interesting?
onequiknova Dec 23rd, 03, 6:00 PM Tamraz SUCKS!! They are a complete joke. If they don't have it in stock don't bother with them.
I live about 20 mins from this palce. I ordered black carpet and a dash pad for my Nova from them. They told me they didn't have in at their store but their warehouse had them in stock and they could have it in a day or two. After 2 weeks with no word from them I called them. They told me the warehouse would ship it the next day and they would call me when it came in. I called every other day for the next 2 weeks, heard every excuse you could think of on why my stuff hasn't come in yet. I ended up ordering from Year One and got it in a couple days. A year and a half later I still haven't heard back from Tamraz.
Some friends have had similar experiences with their total lack of customer service.
John.
