I'm installing a 4 speed hump in my 70ss for a none console car. I'm having difficulty trying to determine the correct location, the body is off the frame. If anyone has any info it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Chuck.

You would probably be better off waiting to cut the hole until the tranny is in place on the frame and the body is back on. When I installed mine I just set the body on, not bolted, and marked where the shifter hit. Then cut the hole and made sure it fit properly.
Just my experience.

I agree with Tom. Just make sure to start small as you can always make the hole larger. Also if this is an original hump then you can position it on the existing tunnel to where it fits the best, This will give you an excellent starting point.

Thanks, Kevin and Tom for your help.
The hump is original and I have a pretty good idea were it should go, but there's about a half inch of play were I can slide it foreward or backwards. I thought I saw a post were someone measure from the seatbelt bolt hole to the hump's hole to give a pretty accurate location for were hump should be mounted. Once again thanks for your help. Chuck

The above is 100% the best advice. Cut a small hole first for the handle, with the shifter in neutral, then place the hump on the tranny tunnel to locate the handle in the center of the square hole. Draw a line around the hump and then cut your final hole 3/4-1in INSIDE your line. Some final triming may be required after everything is positioned. These humps are spot welded at the factory, but you can make several small welds or even use a bunch of small sheetmetal screws or poprivets. Before permanent attachment, use some kind of sealer between the floor and hump (believe it or not, I used black roofing sealer).
