Hello. I'm trying to find what the measurement should be between the two quarters. We cannot seem to get the top of the doors to line up with the quarters. It's like the quarters are bent in or the doors are bent out. A bodyman friend of mine wants to port-a-power the freshly painted quarters out about a 1/4 in. This makes me nervous. Anyone have a suggestion? Agrrr, We chipped the paint in about 5 places tonight. Somebody help. Andrew

do the doors just stick out at the quarters, or do they also stick out along the bottom over the rockers? Is there new weatherstripping on the doors? I have had some that was so hard when new it made the doors stick out. All you should have to do is adjust the striker bolt on the quarter to get the door to close inward more if it sticking out too far.

From what I gathered from your post. JUST the top
of the door is mis-aligned. and the rest of the door ( bottom @ rocker front edge @ fender and
@ winshil piller and gap @ rear of door are all A-OK. ) You can check to see if the door has been tweaked. and is this problem on both DOORS
top fit ??
You realy like to pre-fit b-4 finial paint..but if you can't steal any hinge adjustment to get your needed fit. You have then crossed into the world of push and pull.... the P.P will work. There is a tool like a pogo stick. ( looks kind of like a truck cargo retainer adj-post)
it has a little more finesse .
I also have had success with tweaking a door by puting a peice of wood 2x3 in the rear rocker opening closing the door till it's tight against the 2x3 and roll/push = bend the door shell in
in at the top rear .by a steady applied preasure.. Now I am 6'3" and 260 so that helps
achiving my will on a door shell..
But remove the stricker..and the wheather strip.
to adjust your door.. GL
