Do you need to remove the vent window assembly to replace the rubber on a 65 chevelle hardtop if so how.

Thanks in advance for any light you may shed on it.

Yes because you have to remove the wing window because the bolt is underneth. It's not hard to do.

Pop the door panel off and you'll see a slotted bolt with a 7/16 nut on it. Thats an adjuster to align your window channel in and out. Take that nut off and screw it all the way in. Now go to the front of the door where the hinges bolt to it. You'll see a 7/16 head bolt with a plastic washer on it and another channel adjustment. Remove both and screw the adjuster in the same as you did the other. There's a philips head screw in the interior side of the door, romove it. Work the adjuster studs out of thier holes. Tilt the vent window assembly backwards towards the opening end of the door to get the channel away from the doors window, and lift. You'll have to turn the vent assembly to get the studs to clear the opening for the window, then she's outta there. If you need, I could scan some pics from a manual.
