I have a 70 velle and I just finished cutting and rewelding all the bad spots around my rear window. My question is should I use a rust killer coating on the not so bad areas (little pits) before I put a good primer on it. Or is there something better to do? Thanks for reading my question. Gary

What I have done, is to use a 3M rust converter substance, then Rustolium's Rusty Metal primer, and then Rustolium's Gloss Black. It seems to do the trick, but the main point is that it's inexpensive. POR would be ideal, but the price....yow!

I'm interested in knowing more about the metal work. What did you use to rebuild the channels? I have a couple of sections to cut out and repair, and no replacement pieces are available where mine is rusted.
