Friday, June 8: Little Rock, Arkansas

Well since I'm in Cleveland I've been kicking around the idea of tagging along for the first couple of days if I can get away from work. No way I could afford gas and hotel for the whole week, at least not this year since I'm saving up to pay off a few big ticket items and get my finances back in order.

I am going to do a leg or two!!:thumbsup: :D

I am a two-time Long Hauler. There is NOTHING more exciting than the Hot Rod Power Tour! I've been to all the big swap meets, Cruisin the Coast, Turkey Rod runs, Car Craft Nationals, etc. etc. and nothing comes close. (never been to Chevellabration)

Being in Texas, Cleveland is a L O N G ways away. A few of my buddys and I are going to Memphis for two days and Little Rock for two days. Memphis is a days drive for us. That's a total of five days away from home, not bad.

Any other North Texans up for this trip?

Well Jimmy I've been to one leg of the Power Tour and It's definately exciting, but you've never been a Chevellabrator???, you should give it a try. I'd love to be a Long Hauler BUT there is no place in the world I'd rather be that week in June:thumbsup:

i wish it would come back through Kansas like it used to. dad would let me skip school to watch them run through Salina on I-70. Now that I have a chevelle id like to run in it they dont come close enough.

this years route couldn't be more perfect for that very thing. Leave Evansville, hit the bration. Hoping to participate from Racine to Springfield

I'm going to Memphis is June....never been to a Power Tour. Any advice.

I'll be on the first few legs and then straight to Chevellabration - best of both worlds - I am glad this is starting in my home town!!!

I was a long hauler in '98, and I made a few stops in '99. It was a lot of work as well as fun. Make sure you have a few miles on your car before you head out. The Power Tour is not the place to make your maiden test run. (That's what happened in 99) Contrary to popular belief, if you break down on the tour, your on your own. Make sure you have a back up plan. We rented a U-Haul to come home.

I plan to do the first couple of days, then head back to Ohio.

Who is doing both Chevellebration and the Memphis Power Tour?
That's gonna be hard due to date conflicts. :( CB 07 is June 7~9. Power tour is in Memphis on the 7th, then ends here (LR) on the 8th with awards given out on the 9th. I'd like to do both, but since I can't, I'll go to Goodlettsville & hang with the Chevelle guys.:thumbsup:

I plan to do the trip as a "Long Hauler" - starting from Saint Petersburg, Florida. This will be my second Power Tour.

Chip, what car are you driving on the tour? How many miles and days?

'66 Chevelle with a 468, automatic, vintage air, etc.... Not sure on how many miles...any suggestions?

I plan on going as far as Evansville or maybe even Memphis. This will be my first time so I'm not sure what to expect. I'm only 20 miles from the IX center so I thought I would try it.
