Anyone ever turn a hard top into a convertible?

I'm on a "special" project that requires all the convertible top stuff around the windshield, nothing more.

How difficult was it? graemlins/clonk.gif

I seen a car drive under the back of a transport once. Hardtop to convertible in the blink of an eye.Didn't look hard to do at all graemlins/clonk.gif :D

hello, im 18 with not too much car experience but doesn't the convertible frame have a fully boxed frame while the hard top is like a c channel ??? the thing tha would worry me is the frame and body flexing to the point where the doors will sag. im guessing you're doing something to reinforce that frame. rad you are correct.
Cardiac, i think you would be better off finding a convertible buick or olds if you cant afford a convertible chevelle and changing all the sheet metal over to a chevelle. i know a guy that made a convertible monte carlo out of a convertible chevelle. the convertible has a lot of different inner structure behind the seat that you would need too. i'm all for doing wacky mods but if you are going to go thru all that work, why would you make something that you could just buy. make something unique.
