: POP Track Down?

Hey all:

I just received the title for my new 70 Chevelle in the mail from the seller and he included the original Owners manual! :hurray: Unfortunately no POP, BUT the guy I bought the car from bought it from the original owners. On the Arizona title it has the previous title number so I figure I can find out the dealer the car was purchased from etc. Assuming the dealer is still in business is there any chance that I will be able to get a POP for the original car? It's not too important as the car was a straight V8 Malibu and is now a SS clone, but it would still be pretty cool to have.

Thanks for the help

Mark

The dealer cannot supply you with the Protect-O-Plate, those went out of existance in the mid 1970's. The original owners must have kept it (had thier name and address on it) or misplaced it over the years.

It was attached to the new car warranty booklet and there was only one of them, which came with the car from Chevrolet. Not much reason to keep it all these and could easily have been thrown away.

Ditto. After the warranty ran out the P-O-P (for all intents and purposes) was worthless to the owner - kinda like when a credit card expires. :)

Well if Dale says it it's good by me. I will not waste any resources trying to track down a POP.

Now Dale and the rest of you knowledgable folks if you want to consult on the rest of the project I am totally open to that.

Thanks for the input

You might check the thread http://www.chevelles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=150298. Gentleman has a lot of POPs listed. Never know.
