Hi

I just wonder if you can have a guess about how much horsepower my BB 408 can generate?

Engine combo is:

402 (0,30 = 408ci)
6223 crank
3/8 rods with ARP
Heads: #3917215 Oval Closed chamber 101cc with 1,88 and 2,19 valves.
Pistons: Speed Pro Powerforged TRWL2328F030
Camshaft: Comp Cams Xtreme Energy Hydraulic - ,574"/,578" - ,240 int/,246 exh /050
Carb: Edelbrock 800 cfm
MSD Ignition , 6AL, Blaster2 coil, Probillet dist.
Intake Manifold: Weiand Team G

And how much hp can the combo generate with a Solid Roller Camshaft? http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=CCA%2D11%2D771%2D8&autoview=sku

And do you think I can reach the 12s run with my hydraulic cam, car weight is 3725 lb, Th400 and 12 bolt with 3,31.

Thanks

Motor dialed in well (ign timing/carb fuel calibration) with a holley 3310 750cfm vac sec (not the edelbrock carb/not as good IMHO) with open headers at strip, very low 13's-12.90's possible.

Power est,390-400+hp/430-440 lbs trq.

Ran as described by 408BB with 9:1 comp. and headers with mufflers.

Dynosim got 433 HP @ 5500 and 450 TQ @ 4500.

With the solid roller 450 HP @ 5500 and 475 TQ @ 4500.

I am running similar engine combo with a 408.

Hooker Super Comp 1.75" primaries
Valves 2.19 and 1.88
Lunati Voodoo 60200LK with .495"/ .515" 207/213 @ 0.050" hydralic roller
Holley Street Avenger 770 cfm
MSD Ignition , 6AL, Blaster2 coil, Pro billet dist.
Edelbrock Performer Intake
Stock 8.5 10 bolt rear w/ 2.56 gears
TH350 automatic
I know it has the Oval cylider heads but not sure on # or cc's..

It's in the shop right now and don't have exact specifics. Just got it broke in and was wondering what kind of Hp to expect myself. I haven't talked to the engine bulder yet to get a printout but I will be doing that soon. I would like to get around 450-475 Hp if possible without making any major mods such as changing the heads. As far as the rearend it will probably stay that way until we install a new 4 speed tranny. If anyone can give me a ballpark hp and torque rating that would help me decide what to do next.

408BB,
With the proper stall convertor and decent traction your combo should be good for 12.90-13.10 at around 103 MPH

Thnks for the info...but didn't really plan on racing it. This is just a project car for me that I want to hand down to my boys. It would be nice to know the stats on this engine but there is no dyno around where I live so I am pretty much stuck with an idea.
