I have seen a 68 in this color and I personally think it looks killer on it. You don't see many so I would go for it and paint it that color. I'll see if I can dig up a picture of one.

I believe in '67 the FF paint code is for marina blue, i don't see why it would change for '68.... good luck.

Hey Steve....

I have a 68 Beaumont with FF as it's original colour. The car had been painted "something else by someone else", but it be returning to it's natural FF when I'm done. I had the local UAP/NAPA mix up a Qt. of FF in Centari paint and shot a bed side panel that I had laying around. The colour looks good ! Turns out, my wife has a cousin who is running a 68 Velle and it's code is also FF Island Teal Met. Damn it looks good on the body style. It does need another colour though to make it pop. The whole car in just FF is a little "lacking" so I was thinking of a Navy Blue Met. for stripes or a Med. Silver lower stripe and rocker treatment.

Sorry no pic's. :(

Other "glitch" too. Dupont, PPG, & Sikkens only list Single Stage Formulas for our paint. There was an Island Teal Met. used in the 90's by Ford (import car) but it is not the same at all. I suggest that you get a bit made up and shoot a scrap panel to see what you think. I'm sure that a BC/CC formula can be gotten from any of the major players if you can catch the rep. and ask nicely.

Been out of town for awhile thanks for the replies on the paint code. I am going back with the island teal met., but I think I will do the lower part of the car under the chrome maybe gloss black! What do you think?
If anybody can come up with any pics drop me a line.
Thanks Steve graemlins/beers.gif

I just purchased a "semi-cloned" 68 Malibu. It has all the correct SS396 emblems, but is missing the SS hood and the lower rear quarter panel mouldings. It has paint code FF, Island Teal Metallic for a code, but somebody painted it Marina Blue. The Island Teal is really nice, and if you could post a photo once your car is finished, that would be great. I'm going to restore my car to the origingal color, hopefully this winter.
