I'm in the beginning process restoring the body on my 68 Chevelle and was hoping for a few tips on priming/painting the body. 1. Is there a standard period of time i need to wait in between coats of paint? 2. How long should i wait between primer and the painting? Thanks in advance...

1. When painting the car you have to wait a certain amount of time between coats. It varies with the different kinds of paints. Lacquer can be sprayed right over itself with little to no time in between coats. The two stage paints require around 20 minutes between coats. It will tell you on the paint can.
2. You can prime and then paint as soon as the primer is dry. Usually you are priming and then sanding the primer before paint. If you can sand it you can paint over it in my opinion. Again, there are different kinds of primer that will take different amounts of time to dry. It will tell you on the can or the guy on the other side of the counter at the paint store.
