View Full Version : Line Locks ->Check-in
Franchise Feb 11th, 07, 2:30 PM Hi All,
Per Line Locks, was wondering:
1) What kind of release button did you get?
2) Where do you mount/keep it?
3) Any advice on what to look for in a system?
4) Any clever ways of concealing the solenoid?
Thanks,
Franchise
fastyellowss Feb 11th, 07, 10:19 PM I hooked mine up using a toggle switch and mounted it on the dash. My car is a 4spd and I didn't want it mounted to the steering wheel or the shifter. I just flip the switch on, do my burn and flip the switch off when done. The draw back is, if the track you go to doesnt have a flat launch pad, you will roll. (cause its hard to use it at the start line)

Speed Shop Feb 13th, 07, 4:31 PM The car came with a Hurst Roll Control. The unit is mounted on the frame and hidden quite well. I took the switch off the Hurst stick and replaced the stick with a Muncie handle-still using the Hurst shifter. The switch was relocated to the leading edge of the bench seat. I used the button switch with the coiled wire and made a "L" bracket. All I have to do is just reach down and activate. The coil in the wire allows me to adjust the seat without any issues.

I am just trying to think of which type of switch and where to place it?
Is it comfortable on the bench seat?
furball8994 Feb 15th, 07, 7:04 PM Are you looking to hide the fact that you have a line-loc, or the most user friendly set up.
If its the former, then the previous ideas are very good. If its the later, I have a Hurst t-handle with the button on the side. I also installed a toggle on the dash in line that feeds the shifter switch. Just flip the toggle on and hold the switch on the handle. With the toggle off the switch is dead and eliminates any accidental activation of the line-loc.
Franchise Feb 20th, 07, 8:40 PM Furball,
I want to hide the solenoid, but want a user friendly button.
I have the horseshoe shifter, but want a button that will be close to the shifter so I can keep my other hand on the wheel....I never operated a line lock so I am looking for the best way?
furball8994 Feb 20th, 07, 9:02 PM Get one of these. click (http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10002_751020_-1_11087) You can drill a hole in your shifter base to mount it. A friend of mine has one of these, He ran it through his glove box. It stays in the glove box unless he is using it, Then he pulls it out and holds it in his hand (that didn't sound to good LOL). When he wants to release the line-loc, He just opens his hand and lets it go. Or you can cup it in your hand and still hold the shifter.
