I'm looking into doing a drum to disc conversion for my 72, but I have a few questions. I searched the old posts, but I couldn't find any questions similar to this. I currently have a pair of 14 x 7 appliance wheels (Cragar SS clones) on the front of my car and from what I've heard, I can't use them if I convert to the 11" rotors on the disc setup. Can I just use 10.5 inch rotors? If so, does anyone know which cars they came on stock so that I can get them from NAPA or autozone etc?

Any help would be appreciated.

do you know of anyone else that has a GM car with 11" disc brakes? they are pretty common- every mid 70's Chevelle, Monte Carlo, or Camaro, and every 77-89 Caprice without the big brakes has those same basic brakes. try one of your wheels on one of those cars and see if it clears.

I pretty sure 84-03 chevy s10 2wd had 10.5" or 10" front rotors.
The first gen s10s had 14" wheels also.

But I do not know if your wheels will fit.

I had a 72 nova with factory 11" disk brakes and 14" rally wheels, so it is possible for them to fit. The wheel has to be made so that it clears the caliper.

the 80's S trucks, F bodies, and G bodies all used the same cute little 10" rotors.
