Can anybody recommend cleaners to clean a porcelain bath tub? I had heard dishwasher detergent but that didn't help much. Any other ideas?
Thanks!

Try some soft scrub with bleach in it.

Depends on what's on it. Lime/Rust, use CLR. Everything else, Dawn dishwashing detergent and a scrub brush, or an SOS pad. SOS pad cuts a heck of a lot quicker, just don't press too hard in one spot too long or you'll leave a mark. Depends on how good the porcelain is.

I just use good 'ol bleach (in a spraybottle). If you cant deal with the smell some green and a mild scotchbrite pad works good, too. Anything too abrasive will hurt the glaze and youll be cleaning it even more often.

to get really badly stains out use muriatic acid, available at Lowes. It will bring back even the rougest looking tubs.

I second the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Those things are amazing on nearly anything. They'll take the spots off a Dalmatian! Buy a couple and try 'em out.

a wife?

How do you use that? Hold it by its feet? Mine wouldn't work.

Like my Grandma used to say. "Anything will work if you smack it hard enough!"

I guess she meant that for me.;)

Have you actually done this? I use that to etch a tub before I refinish it. :D Of course, what I use is probably a lot stronger. Use this a few times, then you can call me to do it over and bring the shine back!
