Finally got around to taking 1 of my new
wheel moldings out of the package for my
'65 Malibu today. It was just awful! All
kinds of scratches, a small ding, etc. You
would think $110 for a set of 4 would buy you a little quality. Am going to call a
Plating Company and see if they might be
able to fix the bad ones. Otherwise, I guess
its re-package time and send them back to
the supplier. The fit for the rear wasn't real great either. The package said Convex
Molding. Taiwan, I think. Has anybody else
been unhappy with their wheel moldings?

Yes john, I have used them and the REARS are BAD. NOS are getting hard to come by and costing alot of green. as for the nicks scratches. That is from just poor handling.
to help the re-pop reas fit better I have used a metal shrink'er/stretcher to tighten up the radius on the lower/rear or the molding.

I have the same problem with the convex moldings! The inside lip on all 4 looked like someone took a DA to it to debur the attach holes. Very very poor quality. Most of the big repop guys are selling the convex moldings though.

NOS is hard to come by and expensive, basically twice as much for a 70-72, don't know about 65's.
