Replacing the interior of a 66 chevelle. Started under the dash and took the dash out as it needed to be painted and the speedometer replaced. While cleaning up the area under the dash pad plate down to the toe area of the floor boards. Noticed that there is a separation where the window, window pillar, and dash frame of about 3/16 of an inch. It looks as if the piece (a trianglular piece about 6" on a side) that ties the pilar to the firewall is no longer welded to the window or door pilar area.Evidently the shop that last did the body work filled it with putty and called it good. Is this something that I have to worry about, should it be cleaned out and spot welded? To do it right one would have to take out the window, move the door, the door pillar, front fender in along with some body work, Would rather leave that until the next time the car gets painted. The paint is almost perfect now after being painted 10 years ago. Thanks, Jim
