I just did this. I shot both POR15 and Chassis Coat. I shot both at 25 PSi which still resulted in a very nice finish. Whatever you do, don't thin it. POR goes on very well without a thinner. Also, only clean the gun wit POR solvent. I used laquer thinner and it caused major fish eyes. I had to sand the whole thing down with 600 grit before the Chassis coat as a result. It looks fantastic though and is incredibly tough!

BTW, using a $35 dollar gun and a 33 Gal Craftsman compressor.

I sprayed por 15 on the bottom of the Camino using my cheap, but reliable ace spray gun. I sprayed right from the can,(no reducer). I used por solvent for clean up. Make sure that you have good ventilation, and a good Half mask or full face respirator. Also make sure that before you spray this stuff, you apply vasoline to any exposed skin,(incuding your face) or you'll be sorry!

Hey Ratlover, you better call por and tell them that you did not get your order. I had the same problem. Those guys loose alot of orders acording to one rep. but they will make it right.

Make darn sure you have ALOT of fresh air, and you are wearing a VERY good resperator, and even a paint suit! (you can pick em up at your local jobber) The guys at POR don't recommend spraying the product since it is extremely hazardous too your health. So be extra safe, and that vasoline trick is a good one, never thought of that, just be careful where you get it, since it can ruin a paintjob http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Take the 'protection' advice seriously. I sprayed outside with a cheap mask and was in the hospital that evening with pneumonia. This product contain cyanide.

Do a search on "Isocyanate Hazards". Most of the good paints (including Por 15) contain isocyanates.

I've seen info that states supplied air (not a cartridge respirator) is required.

I know several guys who have used only a cartridge type respirator with no ill effects but it's a big chance to take. It may affect some people differently than others.

I'm not a doctor or a chemist but from what I've read about this stuff it would pay to check it out. See if Por 15 has an MSDS at their website.

I brushed Por 15 and then rolled it with a 4" foam roller while still wet and it turned out real slick. I don't think I could have sprayed it any better.

Amen, brother. I had black fingernails until they grew out. I just did underhood (inner fenders, frame, firewall, etc) I brushed on the first level of POR 15, on just the frame then sprayed all of it with chassiscote black gloss. While laying on my back doing the underneath of the frame, I got my hair (it was very long at the time...half way down my back) in a puddle of POR that I had unknowingly spilled. My poor fiancee spent about an hour with acetone getting it out of my hair with paper towels and rags. Nightmare!!!

PS. I used a very good gun that I borrowed from my dad, thinned it no more than POR recommended (with POR solvent) and sprayed. This was my first spraying attempt and it turned out very well. Its pretty forgiving for as thick as it is. One thing I highly recommend is using the pre-paint etching acid they have. Its like flux and solder. Just makes it stick like glue and sheet nicely.

PPS. Using a mask is highly recommended. If you don't, however (like I failed to do) follow immediately with three beers for the wierdest psychedelic effect. I swear I had a conversation with Homer Simpson on my couch.
