when looking from the front and back, the car is sitting lower on the driver's side by a couple inches. when i bought the car about 4 years ago, the guy who had it before me had replaced either the front springs or the rear(can't remember) the remaining 2 are original. the body leveled itself out a bit when i put the hood and front bumper back on the car after them being off for some work, but there is still a little bit of a tilt. could it be the springs? i'm really not sure since i'm not experienced with suspension work, and don't want to order 4 new springs if that's not the problem. has anyone had this happen? the car was fine up up until this spring when it sat for a few months when i was doing some work on it.

I would start by finding some flat, level place to park the car. Take measurements from the frame rails to the ground at all four corners, then take measurements from the wheel well arches to the ground at all four corners.
Looking at the side-to-side differences (front-to-back just indicate the stance of the car) you can see if it is truely the frame that is not level (which will also cause the body to not be level), which would indicate suspension, or if just the body is not level which may indicate only deteriorating body mounts.
If it looks like suspension, jack up the rear of the car in the center, under the pumpkin (may help to have the rear tires off, so you don't wind up eight feet in the air) and re-measure the front. If it is now suddenly level, a rear spring is sagging and the front two are good. If it is still uneven, the front springs or associated hardware is bad. If you jack up the front at a point in the center of the crossmember, and measure the rear height, you will know if the back springs are equal or not, too.

Corey's got a good plan there. If it is the front, the front coil springs are probably not seated in the little pocket and just need to be rotated into the seat. That requires a little front end disassembly.

is it possible for the springs to become un-seated? the car sat even when i parked it, but when i took her out of the garage again after a couple of months, she was crooked.
what's even stranger, is that when i put her hood and front bumper back on, she leveled out to only a small amount of body lean.

my 69 has always sat lower on the drivers side, the springs are the factory stock from 69.....i put air bags in the rear springs and then pumped the drivers side one up more than the passengers so it was level. i also picked up .2 at the dragstrip! worked for me, just a suggestion... good luck! graemlins/waving.gif

PS - I forgot to add...
Before starting anything make sure your tires are all aired up equally! At least the two on the front equal and the two on the rear. I had a similar incident where I was like "what the heck is going on with this car?!?" Turns out one tire was a little low, but it sure made the opposite corner noticably higher! Although, just looking at the tire, it was a little hard to notice it low.
