I KNOW THIS AREA IS SUPPOSED TO BE BLACK WHERE THE 396 EMBLEM GOES. WHERE DO I FIND THE PAINT CODE OR MIXTURE TO DO THIS THE RIGHT SHADE OF FLAT BLACK

I have seen the mix for the paint somewhere recently. Maybe in the Chevelle SS Restoration Guide. I will look this weekend. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

It is kind of a semi-gloss black. Not a flat and not a gloss (but it does look closer to a flat than a gloss to me http://www.chevelles.com/forum/confused.gif ).

Maybe try a search on Chevelle Tech from last year. Search for "flat black" or "rear panel". I know it has been discussed here before as well.
