Hey guys,
My girlfriend asked me what I wanted to get for Valentines day and she has agreed to buy Chevelle parts. One of the parts I am looking for is the stock black radiator top panel for a 1970 454 car. I saw one at SS396.com for about $33. Anybody know of anywhere else to get one or has anybody ordered this part and been satisfied with or unsatisfied with it? I know its just a small part but I am trying to use this resource before buying to avoid having to send stuff back. Also does anybody have one of these they would be willing to sell that just needs sanding and painting? If so email pics to raupleminze@yahoo.com

yeah I saw that one after I posted, anybody know if its a good piece or not. I was watching an original on ebay but it just jumped over $80 with two hours left. A little out of my price range.

Big block cars had an extra tab on the drivers side. I have a pic around here someplace. There is a company that repops the tabs but I can't remember who right this minute. I hear they are close but not identical.

I got a chrome 4 bolt panel from National Parts Depot. The chrome quality is pretty good and the price $19.95 made it a great deal. Check it out a www.nationalpartsdepot.com (http://www.nationalpartsdepot.com) and go to the chevelle cooling section, download and Bada-Bing!

Thats only for a 4-core radiator, usually with A/C. Three core units have a narrower fit at the end instead of the wider/reinforced 4 core piece. Both my COPO and LS-5 use the same three core radiator and matching top cover.

I got mine that looks just like this, with the tab, At HINSHAW's about 2 years ago. I think I paid $54.
