Okay, so I got my Jeep GC steering box this weekend for the quick ration swap and I have a couple questions I could use some help on.

1. GC steering box came with a pitman arm attached. Do I need to keep this or do I use my Chevelle one. Chevelle is currently at the painters so I can't check right now.

2. What size is the nut the holds on the pitman arm? Is it metric or standard?

Thanks,

Bart

Hey Bart, yes you will need your old Chevelle Pitman Arm. The Nut is 15/8" I think ?. But the Nut is the easy part, you will need to get a Pitman Arm Puller from your local parts supply house. They are pretty cheap to buy.

Bart will you be doing the install any time soon? If so, how about posting pics of various stages of the project? I am thinking about doing this on my 71, and some pics would help.

Yes, I am starting the process now, but I don't know how soon, soon will be since the car is still at the painters then it needs to go to the upholstrey shop for headliner and carpet work. But I will take pictures and post when I am done.
